MACS Maritime Carrier Shipping GmbH & Co is founded by Felix Scheder-Bieschin Snr.
MACS 1979
Multipurpose Liner Service between the United Kingdom/Europe and Southern Africa is launched. The vessels used were our first generation tween deckers M/V Maritime Carrier and Durban Carrier.
MACS 1983
MACS takes over AESL and strengthens the MACS brand and service offering.
MACS 1985
Second generation vessels of the Blue Master class are brought into service.
MACS 1994
South African Democracy: MACS acquires two additional ships as a token of their confidence in the new democracy and commitment to South Africa.
MACS 1997
Third generation vessels Amber Lagoon Class: Fleet is modernised by adding three new Multipurpose Container vessels. They are designed specifically and tailor-made for the requirements of the Europe-Southern Africa trade. With this fleet renewal program MACS is well positioned to take on the challenges of the future.
MACS 2004
The Scheder-Bieschin family, together with their friend Count Wedell-Wedellsborg of Dannebrog, start a new service between South Africa and North America operated by Galborg PTE Ltd of Singapore.
MACS 2013
Fourth generation vessels of the Blue Master II Class are brought into service further refreshing and bolstering the fleet.
MACS 2015
In January, the MACS Transatlantic Service (MTA) between Europe and North America is launched.
MACS 2016
1 July Galborg Pte. Ltd is renamed to MACS Maritime Carrier Shipping Pte. Ltd and Galborg USA, LLC is renamed to MACS Maritime Carrier Shipping, LLc.
MACS 2017
In October 2017 the MACS holding company Vineta GmbH purchased Hugo Stinnes Schiffahrt GmbH, Rostock / Germany.
