August 18th, 2010 - Maputo congestion surcharge
Notice is hereby given that effective immediately, 18th August 2010 (bill of lading date), MACS will implement a congestion surcharge of USD 200 per TEU and Euro 15 per freight ton on all Southbound import cargo into Maputo, Mocambique. The congestion surcharge is subject to close monitoring of the ports performance and will be reduced or withdrawn when a significant reduction in waiting times has been achieved.
A separate announcement regarding export cargo will follow shortly.
We regret this development but the waiting time of our vessels in Maputo of 3-5 days leave us with no other choice.

USD 394 / lost slot In case of overheight and/or overwidth
USD 515 / TEU For Refrigerated Containers
EUR 20,50 / Freight tons For Break bulk cargo
First effective sailings are:
MV Red Cedar 0224 (southbound)
MV Bright Horizon 0127 (northbound)
